Yes and no, you can absolutely migrate data from an old Obsidian vault to the Obsibrain one but this comes with manual actions from your part to be sure that everything is working properly:

  • Ensure to move ALL your files first in the notes folder.

  • Then, if you previously had any files like projects, areas, and resources, please use the dedicated commands and template to recreate them and migrate the content of the old files to these new ones.

  • Ensure that any previously used plugins are added to Obsibrain and everything is compatible.

Alternatively, you can use Obsidian's built-in "Open another vault" feature. This allows you to temporarily access your old vault alongside your new one, making it easy to move or copy specific notes, folders, or entire vaults as needed.
